Milla Jovovich Can Do Everything!

Back when Resident Evil 3 came out a couple months ago, one of my co-workers was trying to recruit people to go see it. He promised zombies and potential partial Milla Jovovich nudity. While I still sometimes wish I could have Milla’s hair from The 5th Element, and for some reason I like the whole zombie game on Facebook, I’m not much of a fan of big screen zombies. I told him that I would gladly go to the same theater with him and watch The Nanny Diaries or something, and then we could both tell each other about how much we liked our separate movies on the way home. He didn’t take me up on it, but all the talk led to another of my co-workers bringing in Milla’s album from 1994 – The Divine Comedy.

I had no idea she could sing! Written at 15 and released when she was 18, The Divine Comedy is lush, lyrical and a touch other worldly. A bit folky, a bit pop/dance at times, it’s fascinating and surprising and fun. Names Milla is compared to musically include Kate Bush, Sarah McLachlin, Tori Amos, and Joni Mitchell. While people are fond of saying something is “unlike anything you’ve ever heard before”, The Divine Comedy really IS unlike anything I’ve heard before! Rather than continue trying to describe it, have a look at this video for the song The Gentleman Who Fell and you’ll get the idea:

Feed and email readers may need to come to the blog to see the video.

Milla is a woman of many talents, and while she is probably best known for her acting and modeling, she also has a fashion line and continues to make music. She has a page on her website of demo songs that she welcomes her fans to download and remix as long as they don’t sell them.

To top it all off, she just had a baby! What a life! Now I’m wishing I had more than her 5th Element hairstyle… And I’m still not going to the zombie movie, but I’ll listen if you want to tell me all about it. 😉

You can download The Divine Comedy on iTunes
or buy the album or download DRM-free tracks on Amazon
